Growing up with pale skin, I hated it all of my life since I look sickly and pasty. I always envy people with beautiful tanned skin because they have color and are more exotic looking than plain old me. I always wanted to tan, but I’m afraid to get skin cancer or burns, not to mention I’m not an outdoorsy person, to begin with, so I’d like to share a few tips for similar people with struggles like me to get a nice looking tan, fast:
Use SPF 30 Sunscreen
Beginners’ mistake for tanning is not wearing sunscreen because they think it’ll make them get a tan faster, while in reality, it would only cause unnecessary pain and a heightened risk of skin cancer. If you want to get a faster tan, it’s best that you use a sunscreen or tanning oil that contains sun protection of at least 30 SPF that is potent to block out the UVB and UVA rays. This will help you get a tan faster and comfortably because you won’t have to recover from the sunburn and can jump straight into the next tanning session quickly.
Change Positions Frequently
Just like sex, changing your position frequently can help you get an even tan all over your body and increase the overall satisfaction of the result. Imagine you’re cooking something, and what do you think would happen if you leave it out laying on one side? It would look uneven and unappealing, right? Changing positions every 20 minutes or so can help you avoid focused burn on one part of your body and help you get your skin tanned evenly and quickly.
Don’t Stay for Too Long
Another beginners’ mistake is thinking that staying outside and soaking up all of the sun for as long as you can is the best way to get tanned skin quickly. That kind of thinking is very dangerous since it exposes you to the danger of getting melanin instead of a nice tan. Once you lay in the sun for two to three hours, your skin won’t get darker past what you already have, and continuous exposure to the sun could result in skin cancer or other harmful injuries.
Select the Right Time Frame to Tan
Everyone has a different complexion, and since our bodies are built differently, we need to choose based on what we have and what will work in our favor. If you are like me with a white complexion, then you might want to tan in the morning around 8 to 10 a.m. but if you feel like you could take the heat and want to get a tan sooner, then perhaps tanning afternoon or around 3 p.m. is the right time frame for you. Remember that there is no one perfect recipe for tanning, so make sure that you do prior research to know what time frame is the right one for you.…
